I am sitting in front of the bakery that sells like the largest cookie in NY and maybe probably even the world. I am not kidding. This cookie kicks ass.

This cookie is unlike any other cookie I have ever eaten. It is slightly hard on the outside but once you sink your teeth into it, it almost melts in your mouth. Its gooey and nice inside. You can really taste the richness of the chocolate and the peanuts. It is sinfully good. And I believe that it adds several inches to one’s waist but that’s something to think about another time. Some may gawk at the hefty price of US$3.50 but trust me, its worth every dime of it. The baker is called Connie and she was really nice to take a picture with us, although she did seemed a tad embarassed at first. Hmm, I am so thinking of asking her to open up a shop in SG.
If I had to describe my experience in NY, I would have to say, food and travel. We spent like maybe half of our time in NY searching for food! Thanks to Frommer’s recommendations, Gillian went crazy over all his food recommendations. Buying the book now seems like a fantastic idea. It served as our bible in NY, in the morning before we left the room, we consulted the ‘bible’ to plan our day’s journey. So it was Absolutely Bagels in the Upper West Side to Mid Town for the Shorty’s Philly Cheese Steak. Although traveling from place to place was pretty tiring but the ‘rewards’ at the end of it justified all the effort.
New York and Long Beach Island are really total opposites. One is hectic and almost crazy, the other is peaceful and serene. One has amazing skyscrapers, the other has breathtaking scenary. The comparison could go on forever but enough said.
It gets really cold at night here in Brant Beach, after dinner, we decided to take a walk to WaWa (NJ’s version of 7-11) and it was brrrrr.Cold. I was on a bike and on the way back, my fingers were so numb that I couldn’t feel them anymore. Thats how cold it was. The sky tonight is really nice, its so clear that you can see all the stars in the sky. If it wasn’t so cold, I probably would have stopped and spend some time looking at the stars. As I was riding back, the cold air brushed against my cheeks, the quietness and serenity of the surroundings reminded me of the more carefree days of my life, where I would take my bike out at 3am in the morning and ride down Orchard Road.
I feel that every moment I spend here in States is a special one, simply because that very moment will never return. The surroundings will have changed, the people will be different and even the air will not smell the same anymore. Therefore, I cherish every moment I spend here, be it with friends, the people I work and live with or just being here.
Close friends will know the main reason why I left SG and decided to come to States during the summer. I was slowly working towards that. Slowly but surely. I also wanna re-establish back my r/s with God, something I have put off for a very long time. Slowly but surely.
Sigh. I wish my room’s heater was working. Its cold here at night.
